New roof at Forest House
It was going to be the last week in July, but better late than never: finally the roofers have arrived to start the dismantling of the old roof structure. As you can see from the photos, the new timbers are all here. All the old timbers that are in good condition and will be re-used, are stored in the garden, and will be covered up for the Winter. The rest is for burning. This is the first phase of the house reconstruction - the barn will be done later, possibly next Summer.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the death in April 2011 of Salamander the main author of this blog. She is a great loss to the ex-pats of Cesky Krumlov.
As a result we will not be continuing this blog, but we are sure you will find many old posts here from Salamander to delight and inform you. For more recent posts about life in Cesky Krumlov please visit Adventures in the Czech Republic
